Western Zone IYC Congratulates Newly Inaugurated Zonal INC Members, Commends Prof Okaba Led NEC

The Chairman of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Western Zone, Dr Doubra Collins Okotete has reiterated what he calls “a new chapter for Ijaw Nation,” with the new executive of the Ijaw National Congress (INC) in Western Zone, praying for unity and togetherness for an issue-based agitation.
In a congratulatory statement made available to newsmen, which was dully signed by the information Officer IYC Western zone comrade Lugard Izoukumor said, the Dr. Doubra Collins Okotete “he believes in the resourcefulness of the new INC’s executive, adding that with a unity purpose our issue-based agitation will yield positive results. Hence, I charge the new leadership to ensure they imbibe in the founding vision of the Ijaw National Congress.
He calls on Ijaw people in Western Zone to be patient, while thanking them for their continuous support, as well as soliciting for an unflinching support to the Robinson Ogunkoru’s led-executive of the INC.
“We are indeed happy that at a time Ijaws of Western Zone are being confronted with myriads of challenges: a new executive of the INC has emerged to provide leadership, which will proffer solutions to these ubiquitous challenges.
“A time our people [Ijaw people] are politically and economically marginalized in Edo State, we need leadership. The conversation of restructuring, PIA 2021, the environmental crisis that has polluted our communities and source of livelihood, security challenges, and of course revenue derivation are few challenges before us as a people,” he said.
“As Ijaw people we must always think outside the box, and set the agenda for other ethnic nationalities to follow, therefore, we must brainstorm, plan and strategically map out new strategies for tenable developments in our communities.”
