Ernest Bebenimibo Foundation's Facilitated Okerenkoko Vocational Centre Comes To Light, As Delta Vocational Education Board Visits Okerenkoko To Establish A Center -

The Technical and Vocational Board headed by its Director of Planning, Research and Statistics Mr Oraemeka Oke and two others visited Okerenkoko Federated Community to inspect the community Civil Center in order to kick-start Training of Youths and probably establish Vocational Centre in due time.

The move for the establishment of the Vocational Centre in the community was facilitated by the President of Ernest Bebenimibo Foundation (EBF),Deacon Ernest Bebenimibo. In one of his visits to the Board’s office at Asaba.

After having a fruitful jaw-jaw with the Board’s Director of Planning, Research and Statistics. The EBF Team decided to abreast the Executives of the Community the latest development. Which the Community leadership embraced.

In the light of the above, a delegation was sent to the Board in Asaba to further affirm the readiness of the EBF and the Okerenkoko Federated Communities to host the Vocational Centre in the Community. To show their full readiness, the Community agreed to donate their Civic Center for the kick-starting of the project.

Amongst the delegates sent by the Community to Asaba are; Hon Segun Mulade, Vice Chairman Okerenkoko Community, Mr Andrew Bebenimibo, Secretary General Okerenkoko Community, Amb.John Dekawei, PRO Okerenkoko Community and Deacon Ernest Bebenimibo, President Ernest Bebenimibo Foundation (EBF).

On his part, Chief Matthew Oruke, the Amadiwei of Okerenkoko Federated Communities, thanked the team for their efforts and also assure them of the community commitment to the project and to give them enabling environment to kick-start the Vocational Training Centre as soon as possible.

The EBF President, Deacon Ernest Bebenimibo as well reiterated the Community’s unflinching support towards the establishment of the Vocational Training Centre.

On behalf of the community leadership, Mr Andrew Bebenimibo, Secretary General Okerenkoko Federated Community also affirmed to the Director that the community is ready to host the Vocational Training Centre to curb unemployment in amongst the teaming youths and the riverine dwellers. Therefore, appealed that the Delta State Technical and Vocational Training Board establish a permanent Training Centre in the community.

In his remark, the Director of planning, Research and Statistics, Mr Oraemeka Oke gave the assurance that he and his team will do everything possible to kick-start the Vocational Training Centre and probably moved for the establishment of a permanent Training Centre in Okerenkoko Federated Community to cater for the human capital development of our teaming youths and added that it will be a plus to have a Vocational Training Centre in a riverine community like ours.
