Ijaw Women Connect Condemns Killing Of Dowen College Student Sylvester Oromoni Jnr, Says Killers Must Be Brought To Face Wrath Of The Law -

The Ijaw Women Connect IWC-Worldwide, has condemned the gruesome killing of a 12years old Student of Dowen College in Lekki, Lagos State, Nigeria, Sylvester Oromoni Jnr.

The IWC expressed their bitterness via a press release jointly signed by her National President Comrade Rosemary John-Oduone, and National Spokesperson, Comrade Izuogere Grace Iwolo, and was made available to Newsmen today the 5th December, 2021. Of which a copy was sent to Coastal Times Newspaper.

The duo in the release, condemned the killing of the young Student, and charged Security Operatives to wade into the issue immediately, in order to bring the perpetrators to book.

The Release:

We condemned in totality and strong terms the gruesome killing of late Sylvester Oromoni Jr, the Dowen College Lekki, student who died as a result of internal injuries sustained after being bullied, battered messily and giving an unknown substance to drink by five senior students of the college.

We, as Ijaw mothers whose sister and brother has lost a very promising and bright child, will not be silent to watch Sylvester Oromoni Jnr die without those responsible for his early passage go scot free. NEVER.

It is depressing and it saddens our hearts to see another future leader of our dear nation killed for his refusal to join a cult group in school.

We, sincerely thank the Governor of Lagos. Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, for his proactive and responsive action in reacting to the call of the masses and subsequently closing down of the school to further investigate the matter.

We wish thank Nigerians for thronging out in their numbers to support the Oromoni’s family and call for justice for little Oromoni Jnr. As a nation we are stronger together.

We appreciate the commissioner of police Lagos state for his swift response. We are pleading that the matter must be investigated, perpetrators apprehended, punished, and made an example to serve as a deterrence against future occurrences.

Dowen College must be held accountable for failing to protect the life of a child in their custody. The management of Dowen college must be made to apologize to the public and pay dearly, especially to the Hon Sylvester Oromoni’s family for their unguarded press statements and lies to cover up a crime as heavy as this that has claimed the life of an innocent child. The parents did no wrong in investing in quality education of their child and chose Dowen College for a choice. The school must be held accountable for this evil done to little Oromoni Jnr.

Ijaw mothers will join hands with mothers all over Nigeria to March the streets of Lagos and in the Nations Capital Abuja to seek for answers over this killing and justice must be served.

The parents of the five (5) boys involved in beating Sylvester Oromoni Jnr to death, the public is aware of your plot to sneak out your evil, cultists and murderous children out of Nigeria to jump bail. Remember that the world is a global village and there would be no hiding place for the wicked. They will definitely be returned from whichever country to face the full wrath of the law and be held responsible for their evil action. Evil parents begets evil children. The world has seen the type of parents you are.
