Senator Ighoyota Amori, a founding member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State, has been officially declared for the Delta Central Senatorial seat in the 2023 general elections.
On Saturday, March 19, 2022, at 12 p.m., Amori, who is now the PDP’s Deputy National Organising Secretary, will proclaim his ambition to be the voice of the Urhobos of Delta State in the Red Chamber at his Mosogar country residence in Ethiope West Local Government Area.
The previous governor of the state, Chief James Ibori, will be the Special Guest of Honour, followed by his successor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, and Chief Mike Adiotomre, the father of the day, at the declaration, which will be chaired by famous professor of English Language, Prof Hope Eghagha.
The announcement is likely to be graced by party leaders and renowned persons from across the state and beyond, following Senator Amori’s Pan Delta disposition.
Senator Amori is the National Chairman of the Delta Central 2023 (DC-23), a leading political lobby organisation in Delta State that advocates for power rotation among the state’s three senatorial districts.
He was the party’s founding Publicity Secretary in Delta State and served as a political adviser to three former National Chairmen.
Amori has also served as Delta State Commissioner for Education, during which time the state’s three polytechnics were built, as well as Water Resources Commissioner and Political Adviser to former governors Ibori and Uduaghan.
Since 1999, the Mosogar-born political tactician and strategist has been credited for mobilizing the PDP to victory in Delta state.
