2023: APC Announces Dates For Presidential, Governorship, NASS, Assembly Primaries -

The presidential primary for the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been set for May 30th, 2022. The governorship, House of Assembly, and National Assembly primaries were also proposed.

The ruling party has announced that the House of Assembly primary for the House of Representatives will be held on May 17th and 19th.
The Senate primary is set for May 21st, while the governorship primary is set for May 24th, according to the APC.

The news comes just weeks after the APC held a nationwide convention to nominate its National Working Committee (NWC) as it prepares for next year’s general elections.
Senator Abdullahi Adamu was elected as the party’s national chairman and Senator Iyiola Omisore was confirmed as the party’s national secretary during the convention, which was held via the consensus process.

Senator Adamu received the party’s instruments of office from the party’s immediate-past chairman, Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State, at the APC Secretariat in Abuja, a few days after the convention.

The former governor of Nasarawa State promised to reposition the APC and urged Nigerians to continue to support the party in its efforts to bring development to the masses.
Senator Adamu remarked in his acceptance address at Eagle Square in Abuja, “APC is ready to do much more when Nigerians continue to pour on us their love, support, and confidence in the next general elections.”
“Let us rise together in our party and in our country and march towards the sunrise.”
He also stated that his leadership will begin efforts to reunite party members.

“Now is the time for us to display statesmanship and usher in the new dawn.” He told the crowd, “The moment has arrived for us to be patriotic in our words and deeds.”
“Now is the time to affirm and strengthen the people of the people, for the people, and by the people.”
