A foremost Niger Delta Youths Leader and Media Practitioner, Engr. Comr. Freeborn Abraye, has called on delegates in the tomorrow IYC Western Zone election, to prioritise the integrity, antecedents and credibility of all candidates vying for the various positions before throwing weight behind them. Stating that it will be the entire zone that will benefit from the nemesis of bad/failed leadership, should they vote outside the above characteristics.

The Delta based Youths Leader made the call via a press release signed by him, which was made available to newsmen in the early hours of today, 3rd June, 2024. Where he called on the various delegates to demonstrate true patriotism to the Zone, by making the right decision in the bid to choose the next leadership of the Zone.

Engr. Abraye in the release, warned that, choosing candidates based on sentiments, personal relation and political affiliation, will only result in leadership failure. Which he said can be avoided, if the delegates are to vote based on the aforementioned characteristics.

The Press Release Below:

“As the IYC Western Zone elections will be coming up on the 5th of June 2024, I wish to use this medium to call on all the delegates voting in the election, to choose their choice candidates with outmost care. As choosing the wrong candidates on the premise of sentiments, personal relations and political affiliation, will only result in leadership failure, which the Zone does not need at these delicate times”.

“Our Zone at this time, needs candidates that are selfless, proactive, innovative, visionary, pragmatic and people oriented. Who can foster good representation at the National level, and in other areas that will be in the best interest of the Zone.

Candidates that will prioritise the collective interest of all in the Zone above personal interest. And have a clear blueprint on how to propose constructive ideas that will make the Zone stand out amongst other Zones.

“It is on this premise that I am humbly appealing to all the delegates to be most conscious in making their choices. As we all will be the ones to suffer the nemesis of leadership failure, should they make the wrong choices”.

May God bless IYC Western Zone!

May God bless IYC National!!

May God bless the Ijaw Nation!!!
