SALLAH CELEBRATION: Federal Gov’t Declares Monday, Tuesday Public Holidays, Urges Muslims To Continue To Imbibe The Spirit Of Peace, Kindness, Sacrifice For The Growth And Prosperity Of The Nation -

The Federal Government of Nigeria has today Friday 14th June, declared Monday June 17 and Tuesday June 18 as public holidays respectively, to mark Sallah celebration.

The declaration of the public holidays was made on behalf of the Federal Government, by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo. Which was signed by the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr Aishetu Gogo Ndayako.

Tunji-Ojo in the statement, congratulated all Muslims in Nigeria and in the Diaspora as they observe this year’s Eid-ul-Adha celebration. Urging them to continue to imbibe the spirit of peace, kindness and sacrifice, as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon Him) and to also use the period to pray for unity, prosperity and the stability of the country.

Furthermore, the Minister reiterated that the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s led administration was committed to safeguarding the lives and property of all Nigerians. As such, enjoined all Muslim faithfuls and Nigerians in general to support, co-operate and join hands with the president in his sustained efforts to diversify the economy and progressively accelerate the pace of the nation’s economic recovery.

The Minister went further to advise all Nigerians to take responsibility in the resolve to hand over a prosperous Nigeria to the nation’s children. While wishing the Muslims a happy Eid-ul- Adha celebration.
