PAP: Dr Otuaro Concludes Important Meeting With Critical Stakeholders, Generals, Camp Leaders Across Niger Delta -

In order to guarantee the success of the federal government effort intended for the welfare of the Niger Delta people, Dr. Dennis Otuaro, the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, has charged stakeholders known as the “Elders’ Council” to work together with him.

The crucial meeting between the administrator and the delegates started on Friday, June 21, with phase two and three following on Saturday, June 22, and Monday, June 24, respectively.

In his introductory remark prior to the brainstorming session, Dr. Otuaro referred to the Elders’ Council as the “face of the Niger Delta struggle” and emphasized the significant role the elders play in the movement for a better Niger Delta. Which he said was the reason he reached out to them to get their thoughts, ideas, advice and support after meeting with the various delegation phases.

The Administrator who also doubles as the Ibe-Uyadonwei of Gbaramatu Kingdom, bemoaned the fact that “over the years, the figure (of beneficiaries) has reduced drastically” and that additional beneficiaries must be added to the program in order to send more of “our people” to school.

The Amnesty Boss did, however, also allude to the necessity of caution in the administration of the amnesty program’s resources, emphasizing that “anytime the program is mismanaged,” everybody in the Niger Delta becomes fatalities.

Additionally, the Administrator announced the resumption of international scholarship programs, and stated that it will be only for specialized subjects.

He as well announced the availability of the amnesty site for JAMB candidates looking for scholarship prospects.

His Words:

“The portals for our educational program are already available for this year, therefore those who took JAMB should apply. “And I want to as well start our international scholarship program, but it will be focused on specific disciplines”.

After stating the above, the Administrator went on to make a plea to the Elders’ Council to support him, urging them to view the programme as their own, so as to advance it’s operations.

Additionally, the Administrator assured the Elders of President Bola Tinubu’s determination to take the necessary actions in ensuring that the amnesty Programme is a success.

Conclusively, Dr. Otuaro, a native of Gbaramatu Kingdom in Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, was appointed Administrator of the PAP and Special Assistant to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the Niger Delta on March 15, 2024. And since then have been making deliberate efforts, to effectively reposition the PAP in accordance with it’s established mandate.
