Tompolo Calls On Nigerians To Abandon Planned Protest, Highlights President Tinubu’s Achievements

By Freeborn Abraye
The chairman of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo (Tompolo), has pleaded with Nigerians to call off the August 1–10, 2024, statewide protest. He thinks that the timing of the protest is detrimental to the interests of the country and that President Tinubu is making a lot of effort to alleviate the economic hardship.
The Ibe-Ebidouwei of Ijaw Nation, Tompolo, accepted the freedom of residents to demonstrate, but he emphasized that the Tinubu administration was not the cause of the current economic problems. He outlined the administration’s initiatives to tackle security issues and revitalize the economy.
Tompolo issued a warning, stating that intelligence reports suggest the protest could be manipulated by people with bad intentions, leading to more harm than good. He joined other patriotic Nigerians in urging the demonstrators to talk to the administration in order to find long-term answers to the nation’s issues.
He pointed out that since President Tinubu had listened to the voices of potential protestors, the threat of protest had already served its purpose. Tompolo’s request comes after governors, the National Security Advisor, and prominent traditional leaders all voiced similar worries.
