EDUCATION: Comrade Pina Ogrenfa Applauds Gbaramatu Youth Council Over A Laudable, Innovative Initiative, Says This Will Help Alleviate The Rapidly Deteriorating Educational Standard In Gbaramatu

Comrade Pina Ogrenfa, the Public Relations Officer of Oporoza Community Youth Council and a former Warri South West Councilorship candidate under the All Progressives Congress (APC), has commended the leadership of the Gbaramatu Youth Council (GYC), led by Mr. Kingsley Arerebo Egbejule, for their creative and innovative idea of hiring more teachers to teach in the Kingdom’s schools.

The Oporoza Youth leader made the commendation via a press release signed by him, which was made available to newsmen today the 14th October, 2024. Where he commended the GYC Excos for coming up with such a brilliant and lucrative initiative that will help improve the rapidly deteriorating educational system in Gbaramatu Kingdom.

Comrade Pina in the release, emphasized on the value of quality education. Stating that no child will be able to attend a university and come out with flying colors without receiving a quality education, particularly at the foundational level. As such, urges the GYC Leadership to persevere in realizing this initiative. Asserting that the destiny of the Gbaramatu child, as well as the advancement and growth of the entire Gbaramatu kingdom depend on it.

He went further to admonish the Executives, to carry all communities youth bodies along in this initiative, particularly in the area of supervising and monitoring the teachers assigned to different schools in the various communities. Declaring that doing so will not only give these youth bodies the opportunity to participate in this laudable initiative, but will in addition, give them a sense of inclusion in the activities of the Central youth body of the kingdom, GYC.

Comrade Ogrenfa also used the medium to commend the Coastal Times Media, who covered the screening exercise, for their diligence and effectiveness in reporting the entire screening process. While he encouraged them to keep up with the good work and continue to display this level of diligence and professionalism in reporting and telling the stories of their people to the global world.

Consequently, prior to this commendation, the GYC leadership in collaboration with the National Association of Gbaramatu Students, NAGS, The Ijaw Youths Council, IYC Gbaramatu Structure, The Gbaramatu Lawyers Association, The Gbaramatu Female Graduates Association, and other well meaning individuals in the kingdom, had launched an educational initiative that is aimed at alleviating and providing a lasting solution to the poor educational standards in Gbaramatu kingdom.

The apex youth body in the bid to achieve this enormous but lucrative initiative, organized a recruitment exercise, to recruit sound and qualified teachers, who will be deployed to the various schools in the kingdom to teach.

The recruitment exercise which was coupled with an intense interview conducted by professionals in the education sector, was done on Friday the 11th of October, 2024, to Saturday 12th October 2024, at the Egbema Gbaramatu Communities Development Foundation EGCDF Secretariat, located in Airport Road, Opposite Union Bank, Warri, Delta State. Where over 200 applicants who showed interest to teach in these creek schools were screened and interviewed.
It was also gathered that the GYC is looking at employing not less than a 100 teachers, who will be deployed to various communities across the kingdom, to teach the pupils and students.
