“THE OLU AND HIS COHORTS: A CAMPAIGN TO INTIMIDATE THE SYSTEM”___Delta Group

PRESS RELEASE
THE CONSCIENCE OF WARRI—VOICE OF THE OPPRESSED
AN OUTCRY AGAINST SUPPRESSION: JUSTICE MUST NOT BE SILENCED!
As we await the long-overdue final result of the Warri Federal Constituency delineation, we raise our voices not in anger but in pain, in frustration and with a deep cry for justice.
What we are witnessing today is not just a political delay, it is a calculated onslaught against truth, fueled by tribal desperation, driven by the forces who fear a just outcome.
THE OLU AND HIS COHORTS: A CAMPAIGN TO INTIMIDATE THE SYSTEM
It is no longer news that the Olu of Warri and his agents have been working day and night to derail the delineation process. From clandestine meetings with compromised officials to attempts to buy influence within INEC, they have deployed every unethical tool to manipulate a process they initially agreed to participate in.
Even more disturbing is the case of Micah Polo, an alleged gun-runner and British soldier, arrested by the Department of State Services (DSS). Intelligence reports link him directly to Olu, arming to incite violence in Warri, all in a desperate bid to create tension that would justify halting the delineation process.
Why would anyone resort to arming a region unless they fear what truth and justice will reveal?
The Itsekiri establishment, aware that the facts and geography no longer favor their historical falsehoods, now lean on lies, arms, intimidation and foreign influence to fight the inevitable.
Yet, they forget that truth is not something that can be buried with bullets. It is a flame that rises, no matter the darkness.
WE REJECT A SYSTEM WHERE GUNS REPLACE BALLOTS AND FACTS
The Ijaws and Urhobos of Warri, known for our peace and hospitality, welcomed the Itsekiris when they came as settlers. We coexisted, married, shared culture and land but we never surrendered our identity or inheritance.
Today, that same generosity is being exploited by a group that has obtained questionable colonial-era court rulings to suppress the indigenous claim of others. But this is not 1914. This is 2025. And the people will not be silenced anymore.
OUR DEMANDS ARE CLEAR
We call on:
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC): Do not bow to tribal intimidation. Release the final delineation report as directed by the Supreme Court. The world is watching.
The Nigerian Government and the Office of the National Security Adviser: Take decisive action on the case involving Makipolo. Let there be no sacred cows.
The International Community, the United Nations, ECOWAS, and African Union: We urge you to investigate the ongoing attempts to distort history and manipulate justice in Nigeria’s oil-rich Niger Delta.
The Nigerian People: Stand with truth not tradition. Stand with justice not false monarchy.
This is not just about delineation. It is about freedom. It is about our God giving land. It is about identity. It is about dignity.
We shall not be oppressed on our own soil. We shall not be silenced by gold-plated crowns.
The land belongs to its people and not to its suppressors.
Warri must be free. Justice must reign. And truth must prevail.
