PRESS RELEASE

CONCERNED INDIGENOUS STAKEHOLDERS OF WARRI FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY

ENOUGH OF THE MANIPULATION! INEC MUST BE ALLOWED TO DO ITS JOB

We rise today with a loud and anguished cry against the continued deliberate delay and suppression of justice in the Warri Federal Constituency delineation exercise.

It is no longer hidden that the Itsekiris, threatened by the truth and exposed by facts, have resorted to bribery, propaganda and pressure tactics to obstruct the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from publishing the final phase of the delineation result, a process guided by constitutional mandate and a Supreme Court judgment.

This is a calculated, cowardly attempt to subvert justice. But we say boldly. YOU CANNOT SILENCE TRUTH.

WE ARE THE OWNERS OF THIS LAND

History cannot be rewritten by influence or intimidation. The Ijaw people by every known oral, geographic and judicial record are the original settlers of much of Warri. The Itsekiris came later. We welcomed them. We coexisted with them. We abored them. But our goodwill has been repaid with land grabbing, lies and manipulation.

Let it be known to Nigeria and the world: WE ARE NOT COWARDS. WE WILL NEVER SURRENDER OUR HERITAGE.

OUR VICTORY IN COURT CANNOT BE DENIED

In 2011, we followed the lawful path. We approached the judiciary. We waited. We fought with patience and documents. And in 2022, the Supreme Court gave a clear judgment in our favor. INEC was directed to implement it and INEC has done so, based on justice, field data and the truth of the land.

Now, because the result doesn’t favor the Itsekiris, they want to twist the process, threaten the peace and insult our intelligence. If they are dissatisfied with the outcome, let them go to court the way we did, not to the backdoor of power corridors.

WE CALL ON THE NATION AND THE WORLD

To INEC: You have done your job. Now complete it. Release the final result without delay. Do not succumb to ethnic blackmail.

To the Office of the President, the NSA, and all Security Agencies: Do not be deceived by fabricated stories of insecurity. There is no crisis, only the fear of truth by those who lost unjust privileges.

To the International Community: Watch closely. Intervene as you must. Do not allow democracy to be strangled by monarchic desperation.

To the Ijaw Nation and all peace-loving Nigerians: Remain vigilant. Remain peaceful. But do not be silent.

THIS IS OUR STAND

No man, no throne, no title, no wealth, no propaganda can erase what God has given us.

We will not give an inch of our land to fraud. We will not trade our identity for fear. And we will never allow anyone to rewrite our history.

INEC, do your job. Nigeria, protect the truth. Warri must be free.
