AN OPEN LETTER TO DELTA YOUTHS AND THE NIGER DELTANS: WHO IS FOOLING WHO?
Issued by: Concerned Delta Network
Date: [13/7/2025]
To: All Youths of the Niger Delta
Brothers and Sisters of the Niger Delta,
We write to you not with folded arms or shallow words but with burning disappointment, rising fury and a heavy sense of betrayal. It is time we ask ourselves and each other, the hard, inconvenient and hidden questions that the powerful don’t want us to voice.
Let us speak plainly.
PINL (Pipeline Infrastructure Nigeria Limited) and Ocean Marine Solutions, companies tied to the Olu of Itsekiri, have been collecting billions of naira more than Tantita from the same surveillance contracts in the Niger Delta.
But how many Ijaw youths have they employed?
How many Urhobo sons?
How many Delta Igbo?
How many Itsekiri commoners, yes, how many or ordinary youths are on their payroll?
Can any of you stand and beat your chest that your brother was empowered by PINL or Ocean Marine?
Where are their field offices?
Where are their operational success stories?
Where is their record of busting illegal bunkering rings the way Tantita Security Services has done and continues to do?
Let’s be brutally honest, they don’t employ your people but they use your voice to fight your own brothers.
Yet Tantita, founded by an Ijaw son, Chief Government Ekpemupolo (Tompolo), has employed thousands of Niger Delta youths Ijaw, Urhobo, Isoko, Anioma, even Itsekiri youths in a genuine effort to protect our environment and economy. But what does he get in return?
Jealousy. Slander. Hate. Sponsored blackmail.
Are we so blind as a region that we now attack the only man and company with a visible and verifiable track record of fighting oil theft because the enemies of progress are uncomfortable?
Why are the so-called alternative surveillance contractors silent on illegal bunkering in their own backyards?
Why do they attack Tantita for being too effective?
Is it because their real job is not surveillance, but concealment?
Delta Youths, Niger Delta Youths, where is your conscience?
Will you sell your voice to those who’ve never built a single structure for your benefit, never trained your youth, never cleaned your oil-soaked rivers, yet, enjoy billions in your name?
Will you keep defending silence while the only structure empowering your people is demonized?
Are we just angry for sport or are we ready to be honest with ourselves?
Let us be clear: The real enemy is not Tantita. The real enemy is the silent contractor who hoards money, keeps you unemployed and pays media agents to turn you against your own.
This is a call for awakening.
Niger Delta youths stand up!
Stand up for truth.
Stand up for equity.
Stand up for your future!
You may not like the man but the facts do not lie.
Tantita is working. Others are collecting.
Let the Olu’s company and its cronies show their employment record, or forever remain silent.
Our fight is not against each other, it is against injustice wearing a tribal mask.
Wake up!
