RE: THE SHAMEFUL FALSEHOODS OF ITSEKIRI YOUTHS ELITES (IYE) AGAINST IJAW AND URHOBO PEOPLE AND THE URGENT NEED FOR INEC TO PUBLISH THE FINAL WARD DELINEATION RESULT
Date: [10/9/2025]
A Rotten Lie on National Record
The recent statement by the so-called Itsekiri Youths Elites (IYE) is not only a lie, it is a disgrace, a spit on history and an insult to justice. They shamelessly called the peaceful Ijaw and Urhobo protest at INEC Headquarters “misguided.” They claimed INEC’s draft delineation is “fraudulent.” They dared to paint themselves as the aboriginals of Warri.
But truth cannot be buried. We, the Warri Constituency Defenders of Truth and Justice, stand to expose their fraud.
The Constitution Has Already Judged Them
The Nigerian Constitution is our weapon, not their propaganda:
Section 14(2)(b): Government exists to secure the welfare of ALL people. Representation is welfare. To deny Ijaw and Urhobo wards is to trample on welfare.
Section 42(1): No Nigerian can be discriminated against on the basis of ethnic group or origin. Saying Ijaws “have Bomadi” or Urhobos “have Ughelli” is ethnic hatred codified into a lie.
Section 91: Representation in the House of Assembly must reflect population and equality of votes. In Warri Federal Constituency, the Ijaw and Urhobo populations dwarf the Itsekiri, yet the old Ward formula 6-4 (Warri North), 6-4 (Warri South West) and 6-6-0 (Warri South) enslaves the majority under the minority. This is injustice written in bold letters.
Electoral Act 2022, Section 115: INEC is bound to correct anomalies. Not recycle fraud.
The Supreme Court in SC/CV/1033/2023 (Hon. George Timinimi v. INEC) gave INEC no room to play games: it ordered fresh delineation based on truth and population, not on Itsekiri noise.
History Crushes the Itsekiri Fraud
The IYE boasted about being “aboriginal.” What a rotten joke!
In 1485, Portuguese explorer Duarte Pacheco Pereira wrote of Ijaws (Ijoes), Sobos in Escravos and Forcados. No Itsekiri. They did not exist.
Ode-Itsekiri (Big Warri): The land they parade as their headquarters is Ijaw ancestral land. Prince Ginuwa, their Benin ancestor, was ferried and settled there by Ijaws who gave him land and a wife. They are tenants. Ungrateful tenants.
Court Cases:
Ogegede v. Dore Numa (1925) exposed the Itsekiri’s fraudulent land grabbing.
Ometan v. Dore Numa (1926) affirmed that Ijaw lands were wrongly stolen through colonial manipulation.
Shell v. Tiebo VII (1996) Supreme Court recognized Ijaw ownership in Gbaramatu against corporate and Itsekiri interests.
If aboriginality means “first settlers,” then the Itsekiris must sit down and shut up. They came last, begged for space and now shout like lords.
The Voters Register Deception
The IYE claim that wards must be based on the existing Voters Register. This is their loudest fraud. The so-called register was built on fraudulent wards that disenfranchised Ijaws and Urhobos for decades. To use it again is to multiply injustice.
The Supreme Court knew this and ordered a new delineation. INEC must not rely on a rotten register. It must start afresh, based on real communities, real population and real justice.
Who Truly Deserves More Wards?
Let the facts roar:
Ijaws: Largest population, widest landmass, aboriginal settlers, owners of the creeks, rivers and lands of Warri South-West, Warri North and Warri South.
Urhobos: Settlers with large contiguous communities, recognized by history and demographics.
Itsekiris: A minority enclave, created by exile, surviving on Ijaw goodwill and kept afloat by colonial fraud.
The equation is clear: Ijaws are the Majority while the
Itsekiris are Minority of Minorities. Representation must follow truth, not lies.
Our Final Warning and Demand
We, the Warri Constituency Defenders of Truth and Justice, declare:
1. INEC must announce the final ward delineation result now. The delay is deliberate injustice.
2. The Federal Government must compel INEC to obey the Constitution and the Supreme Court.
3. Any blood spilled in Warri because of this delay will be on INEC’s head. History will hold them responsible.
4. Itsekiri blackmail must end. Nigeria cannot continue to bow to a noisy minority.
Conclusion:
Truth Will Outlive Lies
The IYE’s statement is nothing but the cry of a cornered fraud. Their words reek of desperation, fear and minority arrogance.
Who deserves more wards? The Ijaws and Urhobos because history, law, population and geography are on their side.
Who deserves shame? The Itsekiris because they live on borrowed land and borrowed lies.
We call on the Federal Government and INEC: Announce the final delineation result NOW. Enough of the delay. Enough of the lies.
