INEC’s Delay In Implementing The Warri Federal Constituency Delineation Report Is A Recipe For Crisis__

The Warri Ijaws Stakeholders issue this strong warning to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC): your silence and deliberate delay in releasing the final Warri Federal Constituency ward and unit delineation report is not an act of neutrality — it is an act of provocation.

By law, INEC has the constitutional duty to complete and publish delineation exercises without fear or favor. The fact that the delineation process has long been concluded yet the final report remains suppressed exposes INEC to suspicion of collusion and compromise. This is unacceptable.

We state clearly — INEC’s delay will not bring peace; it will breed resentment, distrust, and crisis. The repercussion of denying communities their right to fair representation is already creating tension across Warri Federal Constituency. If this delay continues, INEC will be held directly responsible for any breakdown of law and order that follows.

We challenge INEC to come clean and tell Nigerians who is pressuring the Commission to sit on the report. The Commission must stop hiding in silence and speak openly to the world. Anything less is an insult to democracy and an attack on the peace of Warri people.

We therefore call on High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo (Tompolo), the President of the Ijaw National Congress (INC), Prof. Benjamin Okaba, and all well-meaning Niger Delta and Nigerian leaders to intervene and demand that INEC announce the final delineation report without further delay.

Let it be known: our patience has limits. We cannot and will not allow the rights of our people to be mortgaged by political manipulation. If INEC fails to act swiftly, it will be clear to the world that the Commission has chosen crisis over justice.
