OPEN LETTER TO PRESIDENT ASIWAJU BOLA AHMED TINUBU, THE NIGERIAN SENATE AND THE INDEPENDENT NATIONAL ELECTORAL COMMISSION (INEC)
By Uche Alvin
Warri Must Not Be Silenced: Delay of Release of Final Fieldwork Report of Ward Delineation Threatens Credibility and Representation of Warri Federal Constituency in 2027 General Elections.
The Warri Progressive Forum wishes to draw the attention of the Federal Government of Nigeria, the Nigerian Senate and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to a matter of urgent democratic importance.
As it stands, Warri Federal Constituency is at risk of being silenced in the 2027 general elections. Without the full implementation of the Ward Delineation Exercise, thousands of eligible voters in Warri Federal Constituency may be disenfranchised and effectively leaving our people without representation in both the House of Representatives of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Delta State House of Assembly.
This situation is unacceptable in a democracy that prides itself on fairness, inclusion and equal representation. The principle of democracy dictates that every Nigerian voice must count, and no community should be left behind due to administrative delays or oversight.
We therefore call on President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Nigerian Senate to urgently prevail on INEC to release and implement the Ward Delineation Fieldwork Report without further delay.
Democracy must work for all Nigerians, not a select few. The people of Warri Federal Constituency deserve the right to vote, to be heard and to be represented.
No Implementation of Ward Delineation, No Votes.
No Votes, No Representation.
Let justice, equity and fairness prevail.
Signed,
