“Oil Thieves In Ondo Behind Arson Allegations Against Asonja” Says Tantita, Describes Allegations As False, Fabricated, Malicious -

Tantita Security Services has dismissed as false a viral report alleging that the home of a community leader in Okitipupa, Ondo State, Oloja Ayodele Omodogbe, was set ablaze following an alleged confrontation with the company’s Ondo State Coordinator, Snr High Chief Idowu Asonja.

However, in a rebuttal issued on Tuesday, Tantita Security Services described the allegations as “entirely false, fabricated, and malicious,” insisting that no such incident occurred in Okitipupa.

The company said the report was a deliberate attempt to smear Asonja.

Tantita suggested that individuals engaged in oil theft and illegal bunkering may be behind the reports, noting that such stories typically surface whenever the company intensifies its crackdown on illicit activities along the coastal corridor.

The company urged the public to disregard the “misleading and mischievous” report, stressing that neither the coordinator nor any member of his team was involved in violence of any kind.

“The attempt to link him (Asonja) to a nonexistent act of violence is not only mischievous but a desperate effort to undermine his work and the operations of Tantita Security Services in Ondo State,” the statement said.

“It is important to note that such falsehoods typically emerge whenever strong measures are taken against oil theft and illegal bunkering.

“It is therefore suspected that individuals or groups whose interests are threatened by Tantita’s ongoing efforts may be behind the dissemination of this baseless story, in an attempt to divert attention from the clampdown on illegal activities in the coastal areas of Ondo State.”
