OPEN LETTER FROM THE YOUTHS OF INTEGRITY OF WARRI FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY

TO THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT OF NIGERIA, THE INDEPENDENT NATIONAL ELECTORAL COMMISSION (INEC),
AND THE NATIONAL SECURITY ADVISER (NSA)

THIS IS DECEMBER, OUR PATIENCE IS NOT WEAKNESS, STOP THE EVIL DELAY AND RELEASE WHAT BELONGS TO THE PEOPLE

We write today as youths of Warri with integrity, conscience and memory. We write with anger that has been disciplined for too long, with pain that has been forced into silence and with dignity that refuses to be trampled again. Let it be clear from the beginning: this letter is not a plea, not a cry for pity and not a negotiation. It is the voice of a people whose lawful rights are being deliberately suffocated by silence, delay and calculated injustice.
It is December. December.
The year is closing. The truth has already been seen. Fieldwork was completed. Communities were visited. Realities were documented. Lies were exposed. Yet INEC has chosen to sit on the truth as if it belongs to them, as if the sweat and destiny of the people can be locked away in offices and backrooms. Months have passed and still there is no announcement, no transparency, no courage. We ask without fear: what exactly are you hiding? Who are you protecting? And why must the future of Warri Federal Constituency be sacrificed to satisfy ethnic pressure and political conspiracy?
INEC’s silence is no longer neutral. It is complicity.
INEC’s delay is no longer procedural. It is evil.
INEC’s behaviour now openly suggests technical collaboration with interests whose politics survive on obstruction, distortion and fear of truth.
This is not incompetence. It is intentional.
This is not delay. It is injustice by design.
This is not caution. It is betrayal of democracy.
To the Federal Government of Nigeria, we say this with respect but without fear: your continued tolerance of this injustice is an insult to the intelligence of Nigerian youths. You cannot speak of democratic renewal while allowing an electoral body to strangle democracy in one of the most politically sensitive constituencies in the Niger Delta. Silence from the centre is no longer neutrality; it is endorsement.

To the National Security Adviser, we speak as youths who understand the streets, the creeks, the tensions and the fragile peace you are sworn to protect. Prolonged injustice is a security threat. When lawful processes are blocked and court-backed actions are stalled, anger grows, not because youths love chaos but because dignity is denied. Security is preserved by justice, not by suppressing truth.
We are angry because what belongs to us by law is being treated like a favour.
We are angry because constitutional and court-backed processes are being stalled without explanation.
We are angry because ethnic pressure is being allowed to override constitutional duty.
We are angry because INEC has chosen silence over courage, delay over duty and politics over principle.
Let it be understood clearly: we are not begging.
We are not lobbying.
We are not negotiating our future.
Our demand is simple, lawful and final: INEC must stop this evil delay and immediately do what the law requires. Enough of secret consultations. Enough of technical excuses. Enough of ethnic appeasement. Enough of assuming that silence will break the resolve of Warri youths.
History is watching. Nigeria is watching. This moment will be recorded. If this delay continues, responsibility for whatever consequences follow will rest squarely on those who had the power to do right and deliberately refused.

This is December.
Our patience has expired but our integrity remains.
INEC: Stop the evil. Do your duty. Release what belongs to the people.
