Delta Assembly Launches Department To Review Impact Of State Laws On Citizens

Efforts to strengthen accountability and ensure laws deliver tangible benefits to citizens have received a boost in Delta State with the launch of a Post-Legislative Scrutiny (PLS) Department by the State House of Assembly.

Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, said the initiative would enhance oversight by providing a mechanism to evaluate how laws are implemented and their impact on residents.

He noted that the department, would support evidence-based lawmaking and ensure policies remain responsive to the needs of the people.

The State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Ekemejero Ohwovoriole, SAN, also expressed support, reaffirming collaboration with the Assembly to improve governance outcomes.
