The ancient kingdom of Egbema in Warri North Local Government Area of Delta State, stood still on Friday, as Chief Promise Lawuru, Senior Special Assistant to the Executive Governor of Delta State on Security Matters, buried his mother \u2013 Mrs Yellow Lawuru, in Ogbinbiri town.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The deceased passed on Friday, 27th August 2021, after a brief illness. She was aged 81. Dignitaries across the Niger Delta graced the occasion in order to pay their last respect to Mrs. Yellow Lawuru as she was laid to rest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

In his tribute, the chairman of the occasion, Prince Lucky Youbogha, said Mama Yellow has lived a life worthy of emulation, he also said that it is not easy to live up to the age of Mrs Yellow, adding that everyone had come from far and near to celebrate Mrs Yellow for a life well spent on Earth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are gathered here today not to mourn with the family of our mother, but to celebrate with them because it is not easy to live up to 81 years on Earth, we are not here to cry. Promise you have to celebrate with us as we finally lay your mother to rest.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

In her tribute, Mrs Rita Edochie, a Nigerian Nollywood actress who has being in the film industry for years, said that Lawuru has done well in burying his mother, adding that it is children who are meant to bury their parents and not the other way round.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Mrs Edochie also added that death is inevitable, that we all must witness one day, stressing that mama has gone to rest with the Lord till the end of time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Chief Lawuru, while performing the dust to dust rite, described his late mother as a God-fearing, disciplinarian and visionary woman who instilled moral values and fear of God in her children. He added that he would continue to miss his mother whom he further described as a mother of all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dignitaries who came from far and near to grace the colourful occasion included: Hon. Dr. Chris Ikiyor, former president of Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) and former Commissioner of Delta State; Hon. George Ekpemupolo, former chairman, Warri South West Local Government Council; Chief Boro Opudu; Chairma, Delta State Land and Waterways Security Committee; Dr. Joel Bisina, former Commissioner for Delta state; Hon. Ebiegberi Diri, younger brother to the executive Governor of Bayelsa State; Engr. Jimmy Ogida; Chief Jeffrey Ojogun; Mr Victor Tonlagha; General Biggy Penapenawei, and several others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Late Mrs Yellow, survived by six children and many grandchildren, was buried in a christian way amidst fanfair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
