Former Chief of Staff David Edevbie, current Deputy Governor Kingsley Otuaro, Chief Sheriff Oborevwori, current Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Senator James Manager, and Deputy Senate President Ovie Omo-Agege are among them. Because of the zoning agreement, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has yet to name his successor or endorse anyone. However, many political pundits believe that the next governor of the state should come from the Ijaw in Delta South.
