The start date for the yearly Gbaraun-Egbesu, Ibolomobo-ere, and Amaseikumor Festivals in Oporoza, the traditional capital of the Gbaramatu Kingdom in Delta State’s Warri South West Local Government Area, has been set.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chief Kestin Pondi, the Ibe-benemowei of Gbaramatu kingdom, made the announcement in a statement released on Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The festival is held to commemorate the ancient beliefs and ethics of the Gbaramatu Kingdom, as well as for the gods of their forefathers to bless the land of their forefathers, according to Chief Kestin Pondi, who also serves as the chairman of the planning committee for the 7-day event, which will take place from April 9th to 15th, 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the statement, the event will highlight many aspects of the Gbaramatu Kingdom’s cultural legacy, including the Gbaraun Egbesu Ogele (Morning Procession), which is exclusively for men, as well as a procession for elderly ladies. There will also be masquerade displays and other events as part of the festivities, which aim to highlight the Gbaramatu Kingdom’s incredible cultural values.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Amaseikumor, Ibolomobo-ere, and Gbaraun Egbesu Festivals have a symbolic religious interpretation for the people of Warri southwest LGA in Delta State, as some believe it opens doors for financial breakthrough for them, as well as spiritual cleansing and development, in addition to bringing people together through cultural similarities.
The statement goes on to enjoin all Gbaramatu kingdom sons and daughters, as well as other wellwishers and friends of the kingdom, to attend the celebrations, as blessings await them.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
