{"id":2177,"date":"2024-04-05T20:39:26","date_gmt":"2024-04-05T20:39:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/coastaltimes.com.ng\/index.php\/2024\/04\/05\/okuama-killings-ngo-boss-chief-mulade-charges-fg-not-to-politicize-investigations\/"},"modified":"2024-04-05T20:39:26","modified_gmt":"2024-04-05T20:39:26","slug":"okuama-killings-ngo-boss-chief-mulade-charges-fg-not-to-politicize-investigations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/coastaltimes.com.ng\/index.php\/2024\/04\/05\/okuama-killings-ngo-boss-chief-mulade-charges-fg-not-to-politicize-investigations\/","title":{"rendered":"OKUAMA KILLINGS: NGO Boss Chief Mulade Charges FG Not To Politicize Investigations"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Coastal News<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Niger Delta born peace and development advocate, Comrade Sheriff Mulade, has called on the federal government to carry out a genuine independent investigation into the killing of 17 military officers at Okuama community in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State without political interference at any level of government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the activist, \u201cIt is imperative to state that the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led federal government must unravel and back his words with action to assure Nigerians and encourage our security personnel that are saddled with the primary responsibility of safeguarding our nation, especially in protecting lives and properties irrespective of politics, ethnic and religious affiliation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe cannot allow our gallant officers to be killed in this heinous, barbaric, and wicked manner,\u201d he cautioned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The renowned United Nations peace ambassador strongly appealed that the investigative panel to be instituted should be \u201d honest, dedicated, and committed to unravel the perpetrators of this dastardly act, and ensure that no stone is left unturned, to avoid reccurrence of such ugly incident in our nation.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe demand justice for the dead whose souls are angry\u201d, he asserted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Speaking further, he charged Nigerians to encourage and support security agencies to enable them deliver on their national assignment as security is a collective responsibility, stressing that \u201cif we must enjoy quality and robust security in Nigeria, all hands must be on deck.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Ibe-Serimowei of Gbaramatu Kingdom in Delta State also called on all Nigerians, irrespective of ethnic, religious, and political divide, to support and assist President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the fight against insecurity in Nigeria because it has no boundaries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said: \u201cI want to strongly appeal and call on the Governor of Delta State, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, traditional rulers, and all stakeholders to ensure that Delta state is safe for tourists and investors to create job opportunities for our teeming youths.
