His actions show that the police authorities may be benefiting from the corrupt acts of the police officers on road duties”.

“It is too sad and callous for a police officer that is meant to protect lives and properties to kill innocent citizens because of the N200 bribe collection. We will not accept any plea that the incident took place by mistake. This kind of unprovoked incident can’t be done by mistake. It was a deliberate act. It is a case of murder and it should be treated as a murder case. It is our humble demand that justice be served. The police authorities and the Bayelsa State government should ensure that the culprit should die by hanging or by facing a shooting squad.

“We will employ self help to seek justice if the Bayelsa State government and the Nigerian police authorities failed to do the needful by providing justice for the victim’s family. I repeat myself a police officer who valued N200 more than a human being doesn’t deserve to live. But deserves to die by hanging or facing a shooting squad”.

“The sad part of it, is that the young man of three children was the bread winner of his family, and was also preparing for his father’s burial when he was exterminated. This is a broad day wickedness, an act that can’t be forgiven by God”, the groups added.

By Freeborn Abraye Civil society groups under the auspices of the Ijaw People’s Development Initiative,…

"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paywalled_content":false,"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false
[3,14
471,472,470,221,469
post-2295","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-crime","category-opinion","tag-cp-bayelsa","tag-demand-justice-for-slain-bayelsa-driver-asiayei-benalayefa","tag-gov-diri","tag-ipdi","tag-ipf-writes-ig

https://i0.wp.com/coastaltimes.com.ng/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/img_2685-1.jpg?fit=2000%2C1125&ssl=1
https://coastaltimes.com.ng/index.php/2024/05/28/family-seeks-justice-for-ayakoromo-born-motor-driver-asiayei-benalayefa-killed-by-a-police-officer-over-n200-bribe-in-bayelsa/
Family Seeks Justice For Ayakoromo Born Motor Driver, Asiayei Benalayefa Killed By A Police Officer Over N200 Bribe In Bayelsa
By Freeborn Abraye Benalayefa Bako Asiayei was shot dead by a Nigeria police officer when returning from work in Yenagoa at Zikoro Road at about 8 pm 27th May 2024.
