{"id":3033,"date":"2024-08-19T17:34:21","date_gmt":"2024-08-19T17:34:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/coastaltimes.com.ng\/index.php\/2024\/08\/19\/otuaro-charges-foreign-pap-scholarship-students-to-show-evidence-of-fgs-invested-in-their-education-by-prioritizing-their-studies\/"},"modified":"2024-08-19T17:52:35","modified_gmt":"2024-08-19T17:52:35","slug":"otuaro-charges-foreign-pap-scholarship-students-to-show-evidence-of-fgs-invested-in-their-education-by-prioritizing-their-studies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/coastaltimes.com.ng\/index.php\/2024\/08\/19\/otuaro-charges-foreign-pap-scholarship-students-to-show-evidence-of-fgs-invested-in-their-education-by-prioritizing-their-studies\/","title":{"rendered":"Otuaro Charges Foreign PAP Scholarship Students To Show Evidence Of FG&#8217;s Investment In Their Education By Prioritizing Their Studies"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>By Joy Ukaegbu <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Dennis Otuaro, the administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), has urged participants in the program&#8217;s overseas scholarship program to value the Federal Government&#8217;s commitment in them by putting their academic pursuits first.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During his Sunday meeting with the PAP scholarship students now studying in the UK, Otuaro provided the guidance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a statement released on Monday, Otuaro&#8217;s Special Assistant on Media, Mr. Igoniko Oduma, stated that high standards for academic achievement were set for pupils in order to support the Federal Government&#8217;s investment in their education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Otuaro informed them that many alumni of the PAP scholarship program had achieved first-class and second-class upper divisions in very competitive fields, such as the clinical and scientific sciences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He pleaded with them to continue the tradition of academic brilliance started by their peers in the faraway nation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He claims that a large number of PAP alums are succeeding in their post-graduation endeavors and making substantial contributions to the advancement of the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the PAP leader, his administration is taking steps to strengthen the scholarship program in order to close the human capacity gap in the Niger Delta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the program&#8217;s ongoing reintegration phase, Otuaro pledged to continue putting the welfare and scholarships of Nigerian and international university students first.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said that this was in line with President Bola Tinubu&#8217;s Renewed Hope Agenda, which outlines his goal for the Niger Delta&#8217;s socioeconomic development, security, and peace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Otuaro, Tinubu was thrilled with the program&#8217;s scholarship recipients&#8217; triumphs and their excellent academic results both domestically and overseas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He stated that the president had pledged to support the Office in strengthening efforts in education and career training for young people in the area, saying that he was inspired by the outstanding academic achievements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He expressed gratitude to the President for his positive attitude toward the Office and his efforts to promote the region&#8217;s change through his Renewed Hope Agenda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Otuaro consequently asked the students to avoid actions that would reflect poorly on the nation as a whole in order to be excellent ambassadors of the PAP, their local communities, the Niger Delta, and the Federal Government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Otuaro, while addressing the students, said, &#8220;As PAP scholarship students abroad, it is very important that you study hard and aim to make the best grades in your academics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThat is what you have been sent here to do, and that is what you are here to do and nothing else.
