In a groundbreaking achievement, Winsome FC of Oporoza, Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State, Nigeria, has etched its name in football history by becoming the first team from the creeks to win the Delta Football Association (DFA) League.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The club, affiliated with the Delta State Football Association late last year, made its debut in the DFA league this season. Despite being newcomers, Winsome FC took the competition by storm, dominating every match and ultimately lifting the prestigious cup with an unbeaten record.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the final match of the league, Winsome FC delivered a spectacular performance, defeating Ndame Fa of Kwale with a resounding 3-0 victory. The team’s impeccable display of skill, strategy, and teamwork solidified their status as the league’s top contenders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The final match against Fa FC was a masterclass in football strategy and execution by Winsome FC. From the opening whistle, Winsome FC displayed their intent to dominate, employing a high-pressing game that kept Fa FC on the back foot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first goal came in the 15th minute when Winsome\u2019s star forward, Angos Tebekaemi (top 9), latched onto a perfectly timed through ball from Michel Funkekeme Godfrey (Best Player of the Tournament), weaving past two defenders before calmly slotting the ball into the bottom corner of the net.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fa FC attempted to regain their footing but struggled against the disciplined defense of Winsome FC. The second goal came in the 35th minute, once again assisted by Michel, who provided a stunning pass that allowed Angos to score with a curling free-kick from the captain, Kome Johnson, whose effort left the opposing goalkeeper helpless.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the second half, Winsome FC continued to control the game, effectively neutralizing any threats from Fa FC. The third and final goal came in the 70th minute, as captain Kome Johnson took a decisive penalty kick after a foul in the box. His calm and clinical finish sealed the victory for Winsome FC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The head coach Andy (Forcados Etimigba Andy, a.k.a. Uduboh is working on partnerships with sponsors to secure funding for logistics, training facilities, and player welfare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
