Niger Delta Group Petitions NSA, IG, DSS Over Cyberstalking, Bullying Of Amnesty Boss Dr Otuaro, Tompolo By Jude Gbaboyor <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Niger Delta Transparency Watch Group,(NDTWG), a non-govermental organisation, has written to the Inspector General of Police, National Security Adviser and State Security Services to arrest and prosecute one Jude Gbaboyor for cyberstalking and defamatory publications against the administrator of the presidential Amnesty Programme, Dr Dennis Brutu Otuaro, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, and the Gbaramatu kingdom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The petition which was written and signed by its president Comrade Simon Ogbe, urged the security agencies to immediately swing into action to bring to book Jude Gbaboyor to pay for his nefarious activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The statement added: “As an organization operating in the Niger Delta region, we are deeply concerned about the psychological damage this evil propaganda can cause to society and Nigerians. We believe it is essential to address this issue promptly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“According to the Nigerian Cybercrime Act, specifically Section 24(2), it is a crime to intentionally transmit a communication that threatens, bullies, or harasses another person. The penalty for this offense is up to 10 years in prison and a minimum fine of N25,000,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Furthermore, Section 58 of the Cybercrimes Act defines cyberstalking as a course of conduct that causes a reasonable person to feel fear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Cyberstalking is a serious offense that can have severe consequences on the mental and emotional well-being of the victims. It is often accompanied by real-time or offline stalking and can be motivated by a desire to control, intimidate, or influence the victim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“The impacts of cyberbullying and cyberstalking can be severe and far-reaching.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The group reiterated that Jude Gbaboyor is liable for violation of cyberstalking laws of the country, noting that he should be fetched out from his hiding place to face the wrath of the law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“In light of the above, we urge you to take immediate action to arrest Mr. Jude Gbaboyor and put an end to this cyberbullying. We also request that you investigate this matter thoroughly and ensure that justice is served” – the group stated.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
