Foremost Niger Delta human rights and environmental activist Comrade Sheriff Mulade has bagged the Ernest Ikoli personality award as he commended the Ijaw Publishers’ Forum (IPF) for the success of the body’s maiden Ijaw Media Conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mulade, who is the National Coordinator for the Centre For Peace and Environmental Justice (CEPEJ), appreciated IPF for the visible display of commitment to the betterment of Ijaw nation and Niger Delta at large.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Ibe-Serimowei of Ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom gave the commendation when an IPF delegation led by its President, Comrade Ozobo Austin, paid him a courtesy call on Monday at the CEPEJ headquarters in Osubi, Delta State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The visit culminated with the conferment of the Ernest Ikoli Personality Awards on him following his immense contributions in advancing the quest for economic, environmental and political justice of the Ijaw and Niger Delta region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Ozobo, the meritorious award is a testament of Mulade’s vehement fight for environmental justice for Ijaws and, by extension, the Niger Delta over the years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Describing Mulade as a worthy example of an individual with fearless and unbendable attributes, the group charged the CEPEJ boss to remain a torchbearer on the path of fighting for total emancipation of the Ijaw people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Receiving the award, Mulade expressed gratitude to IPF for recognising his ‘little efforts’ in seeking justice for his people who have continued to face oppression from multiple dimensions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He dedicated the award to God Almighty and the late Major Isaac Jasper Adaka Boro, who he described as the forebearer of the struggle for justice and equity for the Ijaws.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was gathered that the maiden Ijaw media conference was held on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at the Banquet Hall in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
