He expressed concern that such calls diminish the UPU&#8217;s standing as a premier organization representing the Urhobo people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said; &#8220;I call on the Urhobo Progressive Union (UPU) to play fatherly role in Niger Delta. Let us unite as one people, Urhobo, Ijaw, and Itsekiri, during these times. &#8220;It is not ideal for the UPU to belittle itself by calling for the revocation of a contract awarded to a Niger Delta son. We must recognize that we are all interlinked and must support those contributing to our collective development.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lawuru highlighted the improvement in security and governance since the appointment of Tantita Security Services, noting that before their involvement, oil facilities were frequently subject to illegal bunkering, threatening national resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He stated, &#8220;Since Tantita took charge of safeguarding our oil installations, we have witnessed a rise in our GDP, peaking at an oil production rate of 1.7 to 2 million barrels per day. This surge has enabled state governors to initiate multiple infrastructure projects. For instance, the Delta state Governor Sheriff Oborevwori is building four different Flyovers at the same time. This is not just a security company but also an organization that has volunteered itself to protect national assets&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lawuru while warning that the cancellation of the Tantita Security Contract would have detrimental effects, not only for the Niger Delta region, but for the entire nation, however noted that; &#8220;This organization (Tantita) has committed itself to protecting our national assets, and its dissolution would be a disaster for all.
