This rebuttal is not just a correction, it is a declaration of historical and legal truth: unfiltered, unapologetic and unrelenting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>OPC INTERVENTION &amp; THE FALSE \u201cYORUBOID\u201d CONNECTION<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Itsekiri Historical Front\u2019s justification for OPC\u2019s involvement, citing a \u201cshared Yoruboid linguistic and cultural heritage,\u201d is a tragicomic distortion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Itsekiri are not Yoruba, even their own scholars affirm this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>J.O.S. Ayomike in Defenders of the Realm (1982) wrote:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cWhile there are Yoruba influences in the court of the Olu, Itsekiri identity is distinct and has evolved separately for centuries.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Prof. Eghosa Osaghae, in Federalism and Ethnic Conflict in Nigeria, stated:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cThe Itsekiri speak a Yoruboid language but their political identity is not Yoruba. Attempts to align them with Yoruba nationalist goals are a post-independence political invention.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>The OPC\u2019s intrusion is therefore an opportunistic alliance, an act of external aggression designed to intimidate minority groups. We recall the bloodshed of 1997. We say it again: Stay away from Warri and it environs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>THE INEC DELINEATION: EXPOSING THE \u201c10 WARDS\u201d LIE<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Itsekiris\u2019 obsession with the so-called \u201coriginal 10-ward structure\u201d in Warri South LGA (as referenced in FHC\/B\/109\/97) is legally bankrupt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Supreme Court ruling in SC\/413\/2016 did not mandate a return to 10 wards. Rather, it directed INEC to review delineations in line with population, inclusivity, and equity. That is exactly what INEC has done.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 12-ward structure is both legal and democratic, reflecting the overwhelming Ijaw and Urhobo majority, as evidenced by PVC registration statistics and national census data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We ask:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Why should a minority Itsekiri group dominate Warri South-West LGA politically?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Why have Ijaw-dominated Gbaramatu and Ogbe-Ijoh Kingdoms been denied LGAs despite larger populations and greater landmass?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Answer: Colonial favoritism, not justice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>THE MYTH OF \u201cOLU GINUWA\u201d &amp; STOLEN LANDS<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Olu of Warri was never the original title of the Itsekiri people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They arrived as settlers in the 15th century, led by Olu Ginuwa I, a Benin prince in exile, not an indigenous founder. Prior to their arrival, Ijaw and Urhobo communities thrived along the Forcados, Escravos and Warri rivers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1925 Intelligence Report (Major H.F. Marshall) stated:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cThe Ijo and Urhobo tribes are the dominant ethnic groups in the creeks and uplands around Warri, having occupied the lands from time immemorial.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>COURT CASES &amp; THE TRUE LEGAL POSITION<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ijaw Victories in Court<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>SPDC v. Otoko &amp; Ors (1990) 6 NWLR (Pt. 159) 693<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Outcome: Supreme Court upheld Ijaw possessory rights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Quote: \u201cPossession in law is as good as ownership unless the contrary is proved.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"2\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>FHC\/WR\/CS\/38\/99 \u2013 Gbaramatu Ijaws v. Chevron &amp; FG<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Outcome: Chevron was ordered to negotiate directly with Ijaw owners, not Itsekiri middlemen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"3\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Ijaw v. Mobil Producing Nigeria (2002) \u2013 FHC\/UY\/CS\/3\/2002<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Quote: \u201cCustomary title and long occupation matter more than colonial overlordship.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"4\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Gbaramatu v. Agip &amp; Ors<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Multiple suits affirming Ijaw direct ownership of oil-bearing lands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"5\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Ekeremor Zion v. Itsekiri Land Trustees (W\/148\/56)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Though withdrawn under pressure, later rulings affirmed Ijaw land compensation rights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Colonial-Era Itsekiri Cases Debunked<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ogegede v. Dore Numa (1925) and Ometan v. Dore Numa (1926)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These were not about Ijaw lands. They validated colonial leases, not native law and custom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. J.P. Mackintosh (1944):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cCourts affirmed titles based on colonial convenience, not on occupation or lineage.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Chief Apoh v. Perememighan (1928)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Based on hearsay, lacking ethnographic verification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SC\/328\/1972 \u2013 Itsekiri Land Trustees v. Warri Div. Planning Authority<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Concerned Warri Township only, not Ijaw ancestral territories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>FAKE ROYALTY: THE FRAUD OF THE \u201cOLU OF WARRI\u201d TITLE<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The title \u201cOlu of Warri\u201d is a colonial fraud. It was unilaterally changed in 1952 from \u201cOlu of Itsekiri\u201d without multi-ethnic consent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hansard, Western House of Assembly, 1956 (pp. 287\u2013291):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cWe must not allow one ethnic group to use an artificial royal title to claim ownership over multi-ethnic Warri.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Ijaw and Urhobo leaders opposed and continue to reject this title.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>POPULATION: TRUTH VS. PROPAGANDA<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Itsekiris do not have the numbers to back their claims.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1921, 1952, 1963, 1991 censuses: Ijaws vastly outnumbered the Itsekiris.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>INEC PVC Records (2011\u20132023): Ijaws constitute over 68% of voters in Warri South-West.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Itsekiris have inflated their population through colonial manipulation but numbers don\u2019t lie. We welcome a referendum anytime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ODE-ITSEKIRI: IJAW LAND MASQUERADING AS \u201cCAPITAL\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The claim that Ode-Itsekiri is the ancient capital without ijaw trace Ijaw ownership is a laughable myth. The land is Ijaw by ancestry, occupation and historical record.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rev. A. Clarke (1843):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cThe Itsekiris dwell near Ijo villages and rely on their navigation. They are not numerous and are guests in many of these communities.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>1894 British Naval Charts mark Ijaw settlements around the Warri River and Ode-Itsekiri long before any Itsekiri palace existed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>WE ARE THE LAND, WE ARE WARRI<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Who lives on the land? The Ijaws and Urhobos.<br \/>Who own the oilfields? The Ijaws.<br \/>Who are the natives? The Ijaws.<br \/>Who collaborated with colonialists for power? The Itsekiris.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We fed you. Sheltered you. Protected you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>You now call us squatters on our own land?<br \/>The land knows her children. So does the blood of our ancestors.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>OUR FINAL WARNING TO THE ITSEKIRIS<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Stop rewriting history with colonial ink.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Stop hiding behind outdated judgments and false maps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Warri is not Itsekiri land.<br \/>The Olu is not the king of Warri.<br \/>Gbaramatu, Ogbe-Ijoh, Isaba, Kantu, Ijela, are sovereign Ijaw kingdoms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>The Itsekiris are not overlords.
