Former governor of Anambra state, Peter Obi has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to stop taking pictures with \u201cheartless, valueless\u201d politicians switching political parties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recall that some politicians recently dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) and met with the president at Aso Rock for pictures before nnouncing the switch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Femi Fani-Kayode who recently defected to the ruling party announced his crossover and pictures of FFK meeting with the president went viral.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Obi, in a chat with Arise TV on Monday, condemned the trend while adding that the act \u201cis sending the wrong signal that you can be anything and be elevated into something\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said the president should instead take pictures \u201cat the funeral of our falling soldiers, police, or their family\u201d or with \u201cyoung people who are doing innovative things in the tech industry\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cLet me tell you what I found worrisome about the defection of today. What I found worrisome is people, weekly and daily, being led to go and take photoshoots with the president, I\u2019m worried about it. I want to see the president taking pictures at the funeral of our falling soldiers, police, or their family,\u201d the former vice-presidential candidate said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI want to see him taking pictures with young people who are doing innovative things in the tech industry. I want to see him taking pictures with people who are making a lot of impact; not pictures with those of us \u2014 I\u2019m generalising politicians \u2014 who are heartless, valueless.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is very worrisome. Those pictures are not helping our country. The perception is sending the wrong signal that you can be anything and be elevated into something. That\u2019s why the country is collapsing.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
