ENOUGH OF CONTRACTS WITHOUT RESULTS, OLU\u2019S COMPANIES MUST ANSWER TO NIGERIA<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For too long, Nigerians, especially the oil-bearing communities of the Niger Delta have been forced to watch billions of naira exchanged under the name of \u201cpipeline security\u201d while crude oil theft continues unchecked and local communities remain trapped in poverty. We refuse to remain silent while Pipeline Infrastructure Limited (PIL) and Ocean Marine Solutions (OMS) companies publicly associated with the Olu of Warri, continue to enjoy lucrative federal contracts without any credible, verifiable evidence of performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This situation has gone beyond poor management. It has become a symbol of contracts without results and payments without impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When the Federal Government awarded multi-billion-naira surveillance contracts to these companies, Nigerians were promised reduced oil theft, secured infrastructure, job creation for host communities and protection of national revenue. Years later, official reports from the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) still speak of massive daily losses from crude oil theft, running into hundreds of thousands of barrels. The simple question Nigerians are asking is: what exactly have these companies achieved with all the money collected?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To date, there is no publicly available performance report, no independently verified success record and no transparent audit of their operations. If these companies have delivered real results, they should publish them openly. Silence in the face of public concern only deepens suspicion and damages public trust.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Equally disturbing is the complete absence of meaningful employment opportunities for Niger Delta youths. Despite controlling some of the richest security contracts in the oil sector, there is no visible impact on youth empowerment in host communities. Instead of absorbing local manpower and reducing unemployment, these companies operate through closed and elitist structures that exclude the very people whose environment they claim to protect. This is not development; it is economic exclusion funded by public money.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are also widespread concerns from civil society groups and community observers that illegal bunkering has not declined under their watch. In some areas, it appears to have expanded. The absence of clear success stories, arrests or documented operational breakthroughs raises serious questions about whether these contracts are genuinely about national security or simply about private enrichment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Public funds are not private inheritance. Nigerians deserve to know how much has been paid, what work has been done and what measurable impact has been achieved. In a country struggling with failing infrastructure, unemployment and rising poverty, no company should continue to receive billions without public accountability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We therefore call on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Ministry of Petroleum Resources, NNPCL, the National Assembly, the EFCC and all relevant oversight bodies to immediately conduct a full forensic audit of all contracts awarded to PIL and OMS, suspend further disbursements pending investigation and consider reallocating these responsibilities to competent, transparent and community-rooted security operators with proven track records.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is not an ethnic or tribal statement. It is a national demand for accountability, transparency and value for money. The Niger Delta is tired of being used as a justification for contracts that deliver nothing to the people. Companies must no longer be rewarded for failure while communities continue to suffer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If the Federal Government fails to act, it sends a dangerous message that public funds can be collected without performance and that national economic sabotage can be tolerated through silence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nigeria deserves better.
The Niger Delta deserves justice.
And accountability must begin now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
