BREAKING: Niger Delta Ex-Militants Stage Massive Protest In Abuja Over Stipends

A coalition of the third phase of ex-Niger Delta agitators numbering about 200, have called on the Federal Government to listen to their demands in the interest of justice.
They made the demand while protesting in Abuja against the refusal of the Presidential Amnesty Office to fulfill its agreement.
According to them, the Presidential Amnesty Office was not created to feed greedy politicians, their wives and girlfriends.
The ex-militants said they had become political refugees in Abuja since 2019, having been ostracised by their communities in the Niger Delta.
The protest started from the Unity Fountain in Abuja and proceeded to the entrance of the National Assembly.
They carried placards with inscriptions such as “Ex-militants cry for justice asking FG: Where’s the N5bn going monthly in the Amnesty Programme?”, “Presidential Amnesty Office was not created to feed greedy politicians, their wives and girlfriends” and “Association of 3rd phase ex-agitators of thought: Call for urgent matter of national attention.”
The leader of the ex-militants, Lawrence Wazolo, told journalists that they were saddened by the sudden lack of transparency and shoddiness that had beclouded the activities of the Presidential Amnesty Programme and therefore had seven demands.
