INEC Is Playing With Fire In Warri—-Says NDAPDEJ, Vows To Resist Any Election In Warri Federal Constituency Without Implementation Of Delineation Report -

The National Coordinator of the Niger Delta Advocates For Peace, Development And Economic Justice (NDAPDEJ), Comrade Freeborn Abraye, has delivered a blistering condemnation of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) over its continued refusal to implement the Supreme Court-backed delineation report for Warri Federal Constituency.

“INEC is testing the patience of the people and dangerously undermining the fragile peace in Warri,” Abraye declared. “You cannot deny people their constitutional rights and expect calm. You cannot suppress justice and expect legitimacy.”

“For far too long, the Ijaw and Urhobo people have been subjected to a manipulated political structure designed to silence their voice. The Supreme Court has already settled this matter. What remains is compliance, not excuses, not delay, and certainly not defiance.”

Abraye warned in unequivocal terms that any attempt to conduct elections in 2027 without implementing the legally mandated delineation will lack legitimacy, credibility, and acceptance among the people of Warri Federal Constituency.

“Let INEC be clear: you cannot build democracy on injustice. Any process that ignores the Supreme Court ruling is dead on arrival. The people will not recognize, accept, or legitimize such an exercise.”

He further emphasized that NDAPDEJ and the affected communities are prepared to mobilize sustained, coordinated, and lawful resistance against any attempt to impose another flawed electoral process.

“We will challenge it in the courts. We will confront it in the court of public opinion. We will expose it locally and internationally. We will organize, mobilize, and resist within the full bounds of the law until justice is done.”

Abraye called on:

INEC to immediately and fully implement the delineation report in strict compliance with the Supreme Court judgment.
The Federal Government to compel accountability and prevent a looming constitutional crisis.
Civil society groups, democratic institutions, and the international community to closely scrutinize INEC’s actions in Warri.

“This is a defining moment. INEC must choose between justice and chaos, between legality and impunity, between democracy and deception.”

“The message from Warri is simple and non-negotiable: No justice. No credible election. No compromise.”
