2027 ELECTIONS: “We Will Not Vote Under A Fraudulent, Illegal Political Structure Abolished By The Supreme Court”__

The Ijaw and Urhobo people of Warri Federal Constituency hereby declare, in the clearest and most uncompromising terms, that we will not participate in, endorse, or legitimize any electoral process conducted under a fraudulent, illegal, and unconstitutional political structure.

This position is not negotiable. It is rooted in law, justice, and truth.

The existing political arrangement in Warri Federal Constituency has already been decisively nullified by the judgment of the Supreme Court of Nigeria and further invalidated by the delineation exercise conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Any attempt to operate outside this lawful framework is an affront to democracy and a direct violation of the rule of law.

“For over two decades, our people have been subjected to a system deliberately designed to silence us. What was presented as governance was, in reality, a calculated scheme of exclusion and political domination.”

For more than 25 years, the Ijaw and Urhobo people have endured systemic manipulation, structural injustice, and organized disenfranchisement. The now-defunct ten-ward arrangement was not an accident of history, it was a deliberate creation meant to fabricate a false majority, distort demographic realities, and suppress the legitimate political strength of our people.

“That structure was not just flawed, it was fraudulent from inception. It was built to deny us our voice, and today, it stands exposed and dismantled by law.”

Despite this clear legal and institutional position, INEC’s refusal to fully implement the Supreme Court judgment and its own delineation report represents a shocking act of institutional defiance.

The recent Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise further exposed this injustice. By deliberately ignoring the lawful delineation framework, INEC has effectively disenfranchised thousands of eligible voters across Ijaw and Urhobo communities.

“This is not incompetence. This is not oversight. This is a conscious and dangerous decision to undermine the democratic rights of our people.”

Let it be clearly stated: we will not return to a system of legalized oppression. We will not lend legitimacy to illegality. We will not participate in any electoral charade designed to validate a structure that has already been declared null and void.

“No people with dignity will walk willingly into a process designed to erase their existence. We refuse to be used to legitimize injustice.”

The continued attempt to impose this discredited structure is not only provocative, it is deeply dangerous. It threatens peace, erodes public trust in democratic institutions, and signals a troubling disregard for the authority of the judiciary.

“When institutions begin to ignore the law, they invite instability. When the will of the people is suppressed, resistance becomes inevitable.”

We therefore call on all Nigerians, civil society organizations, and the international community to urgently take note of this situation and hold INEC accountable. The refusal to obey a valid Supreme Court judgment is unacceptable and sets a dangerous precedent for Nigeria’s democracy.

“The rule of law must not be selective. A nation where court judgments are ignored is a nation standing on the edge of democratic collapse.”

The Ijaw and Urhobo people are not second-class citizens. We have contributed immensely to the growth and sustenance of this nation. We have endured injustice with patience, but that patience must not be mistaken for weakness.

“Our silence in the past was not consent, it was restraint. That restraint must not be abused.”

Our demand remains clear, lawful, and non-negotiable:

INEC must immediately implement the delineation report as ordered by the Supreme Court of Nigeria and as established through its own processes.

Anything short of this is a continuation of injustice and will be resisted through all lawful and democratic means available to us.

“We stand on the side of law. We stand on the side of justice. And we will not back down.”

History will judge those who choose to stand on the side of illegality, oppression, and electoral fraud.
