•••••••••Tompolo Does Not Negotiate With Blackmailers And Peddlers Of Falsehood
The attention of the Niger Delta Advocates For Peace, Development And Economic Justice (NDAPDEJ) has been drawn to the purported “ceasefire” announcement recently made by Jude Gbaboyor and Daniel Perela Ezekiel, and we consider it necessary to set the record straight.
Let me state this categorically, unequivocally and without ambiguity: High Chief Dr. Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, A.K.A Tompolo has no ceasefire arrangement, peace agreement, negotiation, understanding or whatsoever with Jude Gbaboyor, Daniel Perela Ezekiel or anybody acting on their behalf.
Their so-called ceasefire has absolutely nothing to do with Tompolo and should not be presented to the public as part of any peace process involving him.
We therefore urge the general public to disregard the publication in its entirety.
For months, Jude Gbaboyor and Daniel Perela Ezekiel have engaged in a campaign of blackmail, character assassination and the circulation of false allegations against Tompolo. But blackmail has an expiry date and falsehoods eventually collapses under the weight of its own contradictions. Which is clearly the case with Jude Gbaboyor and Daniel Perela Ezekiel.
It is therefore our position that the so-called ceasefire is nothing more than an attempt by its Jude Gbaboyor and Daniel Perela Ezekiel to publicly announce that they are stepping back from their campaign of calumny, blackmail and false allegations after apparently exhausting their lies and the narratives they have been pushing against Tompolo.
Tompolo does not negotiate with blackmailers. He does not bargain with falsehood. And he certainly does not enter into secret arrangements with individuals who have repeatedly sought to damage his reputation through blackmail and leveling of false allegations against him.
Let nobody attempt to manufacture a peace process where none exists.
Yes, Tompolo is a peace-loving Niger Deltan who understands the enormous value of peace, unity and stability in the region. But being committed to peace does not mean he will have to surrender to blackmail, legitimize false accusations or enter into arrangements with people who have constantly abused, blackmailed and leveled false allegations against him.
We are therefore calling on members of the public, the media, political leaders, traditional rulers and stakeholders across the Niger Delta to stop giving credibility to misleading publications designed to create the impression that Tompolo is negotiating with people with whom he has no agreement whatsoever.
If Jude Gbaboyor and Daniel Perela Ezekiel have decided to cease whatever campaign they were previously pursuing, that is their personal decision and they are entitled to announce it. But they must not drag Tompolo into their announcement or manufacture a relationship, negotiation or peace process that does not exist.
Tompolo has not authorised anybody to negotiate on his behalf with these individuals. There is no deal. There is no agreement. There is no understanding. And there is no Tompolo-backed ceasefire.
The public should therefore treat the so-called ceasefire publication for exactly what it is: a big lie and nothing more.
We will continue to defend truth, peace and justice in the Niger Delta, but we will equally continue to expose attempts to manipulate public opinion through blackmail, misinformation and political propaganda.
Tompolo does not need blackmailers to define his reputation, and he does not need falsehood to determine his place in the Niger Delta struggle.
There Is No Ceasefire Agreement Between Tompolo, Jude Gbaboyor And Daniel Perela Ezekiel. Therefore, The Public Should Disregard The So-Called Ceasefire Publication.
Signed:
Comrade Freeborn Abraye
